Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026 · Last updated October 15, 2026
Oaktree Carpets & Flooring respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Oaktree Carpets & Flooring, a family owned flooring retailer in Calgary, Alberta.
- Address: 1615 32 Ave NE, Calgary, AB T2E 7A3
- Phone: (403) 291-2772
- Email: info@oaktreecarpets.com
We are responsible for the personal information under our control, and we handle it in line with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
2. What we collect
Information you give us
When you book a free showroom visit through our form, or contact us by phone or email, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- Your postal code, if you choose to give it
- Details about your project: the type of flooring you are interested in, the size of the project, your timeline, and whether you would like information about financing
- Anything you write in the notes field, such as pets, subfloor concerns, or the rooms involved
You do not need to create an account to use this site, and we do not ask for payment information through this website.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, ours collects some technical information when you visit:
- Your IP address and general location, such as city or region
- Your browser type, device type and operating system
- Pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and the links you clicked
- The website or ad that referred you to us
This is collected through cookies and similar technologies. See section 6.
3. How we use your information
We use the information you give us to:
- Contact you to arrange your free showroom visit
- Answer your questions and prepare a measure and a quote
- Send you information about financing, if you asked for it
- Keep a record of our conversation so the next person you speak to is up to speed
- Improve our website, our service, and the way we describe our products
- Measure how well our advertising works, so we know which ads are worth running
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent or trade your contact details to other companies for their own marketing.
4. Your consent
When you submit our booking form, you are asking us to get in touch, and you consent to us contacting you by phone, text message or email about your flooring project.
You can withdraw that consent at any time. Call us at (403) 291-2772, email info@oaktreecarpets.com, reply STOP to a text message, or use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email. Withdrawing consent will not affect work already underway, and we may still need to contact you about a job in progress.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed to run our business, and only with parties who are required to protect it:
- Our team. Oaktree staff who need it to book your visit, measure your space, or prepare your quote.
- Form delivery. Online booking is being configured through Forminator on our WordPress website. Once enabled, submissions will be processed by the website and sent to our team through our email service provider. The preview booking form does not currently send submissions.
- Our customer records system. We store enquiries in a customer relationship system so we can follow up properly and keep a history of your project.
- Advertising and analytics providers. Google, as described in sections 6 and 7.
- Installers and suppliers. If you go ahead with a project, we share what is needed to complete it, such as your address and the scope of work.
- Financing. If you choose to apply for financing, your application is made directly to Fairstone and is handled under Fairstone’s own privacy policy. Oaktree does not collect or store your financing application or your credit information.
- Legal reasons. If we are required to by law, or to protect our rights, our staff or the public.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers use them to:
- Make the site work properly and remember your place in the form
- Understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it
- Measure which ads and search terms bring people to us
- Show our ads to people who have visited this site before, which is known as remarketing
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, usually under Settings, then Privacy. Parts of the site may not work as well if you do.
This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
7. Google advertising and analytics
We advertise on Google. To do that well, we use Google services that rely on cookies and similar identifiers:
- Google Ads conversion tracking, which tells us when someone who clicked one of our ads went on to book a visit. We see totals, not the identity of the person who clicked.
- Google Ads remarketing, which allows us and other third party vendors, including Google, to show our ads on other sites across the internet to people who have previously visited this one.
- Google Analytics, which reports how visitors find and move through the site.
Third party vendors, including Google, use first party cookies such as the Google Analytics cookie, and third party cookies such as the DoubleClick cookie, together to report how ad impressions and ad interactions relate to visits to this site.
You can control this:
- Opt out of personalised Google ads at My Ad Center
- Opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
- Manage interest based advertising from Canadian advertisers at AdChoices Canada
For more on how Google handles data from sites that use its services, see Google’s partner sites notice.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, which normally means for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for the period required to meet warranty, tax and legal obligations. When we no longer need it, we delete it or make it anonymous.
If you ask us to delete your information and we are not required to keep it, we will.
9. How we protect it
We use reasonable physical, technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorised access. This site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to enquiry records is limited to staff who need it.
No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please do not send us sensitive information such as banking details or your Social Insurance Number through this website.
10. Your choices and your rights
Under Canadian privacy law you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you and how we have used it
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- Withdraw your consent to being contacted
Email info@oaktreecarpets.com or call (403) 291-2772 and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
11. Children
This website is meant for adults arranging flooring for a home or business. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. Links to other websites
Our site links to other websites, including Google Maps, our financing partner, and the manufacturers whose products we carry. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their policies before giving them your information.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business or the law changes. The effective date at the top of this page will always tell you when it was last revised. Significant changes will be posted on this page.
